MWHOA Meeting Minutes
March 13, 2007
Board members:
John
Patton, Michele Heffner, Marybeth Daucher, Thelena Williams
Attendees:
Chris
Rhawn
The
minutes of January 2007 meeting were accepted with minor corrections.
First
Quarter: dues received = $9395; 8 homeowners late on current dues, 1 owner
short paid, 2 owners have 12 months outstanding due, 2 owners have legal fees
assessed = 13 follow up letters.
Greenlink
has submitted a new contract to us, we suspect that they lost the copy that we
sent to them late 2006. They did not
change the fees for 2007 from the 2006 contract, and state that in 2008 costs
will not rise more than 3%, and may remain the same. We are considering changing landscape companys, if the price is
right and the reputation is good. The
current contract with Greeenlink is $15,427.50, divided into 11 payments of
$1,402.50 commencing in February. John Patton was to investigate the current
status of the Greenlink contract.
After
renegotiating the contract for trash pickup with Allied, we have received a
better offer from Ecology trash company.
They are offering $2.00 less per house per month, and adding a free bulk
pick-up spring and fall. Michele investigated Ecology’s services and
references. Costs would be $5.50 per household x 104 = $572/month. Next day
pick-up on holidays, 2x year bulk collection that we schedule, Christmas tree
pick up. The Board suggested to pursue terminating Allied contract in favor of
Ecology contract.
Christopher
Hitchens, the association attorney, believes it will be between one and three
months to complete the pond maintenance transfer. The recent change in the County Executive has caused the delay,
as the County Executive signs the transfer, and also the staff is hanging at this time.
It
was suggested that parking spaces in need of immediate repair be completed as
soon as possible, preferably by Asphalt Paving, Inc.
The
Board discussed replacing dead trees and shrubs in 2007, estimating the cost at
about $900. Approval was given pending
the funding being available.

is currently underway for Centerway calming within our neighborhood. Need for
road repair on Mourning Dove. Ask county public works about water pooling on
sidewalk and other low zones near Marsh Hawk Ln. and Strawberry Knoll Rd.
